Involvement with horses is generally expensive and the financial investment is generally significant for the person making it. Valued and valuable horses are often irreplaceable for the owner but as with all such situations it is nice to know you have a fall-back, a safety net, a plan B in the event of loss. We provide that peace of mind. We provide a fully comprehensive bloodstock insurance service to the amateur and professional alike, so whether it’s a child’s pony or a seven figure international stallion, we provide you with the same level of personal service and expertise to the highest professional standards. We are proud to have horses insured on every continent involved in the thoroughbred Industry and our experience, expertise and international connections enables us to ensure that your horse can be covered wherever they are and for whatever they are doing. As Ireland’s largest bloodstock insurance broker and market leader we have considerable negotiating power with insurers and we access the best, most innovative and competitive underwriting markets ensuring best rates, cover and claims settlement procedures for you.We provide the full range of cover available for thoroughbreds and non-thoroughbreds from foals to yearlings to stores to racehorses, both on the flat and over obstacles, to Stallions and Broodmares.  We can provide cover for horses, at grass, breaking, flat racing, hurdling, steeple-chasing, breeding and at Stud. Our full range of cover is as follows.

  • All risks of mortality & theft
  • Unsoundness of Wind
  • Prospective foal
  • Broodmare barrenness
  • Stallion first season infertility
  • Surgery Cover
  • Transit Insurance
  • Stallion permanent disability

Offering competitive rates is obviously important, however we are only as good as our last claim and how we handled it for you. Our record in this area is first class and our claims handling record speaks for itself.  In recent years, when one of the smaller European underwriters went into liquidation, we were the only Irish brokers to not alone honour unexpired policies but also to pay out on unsettled claims.

We treat all horses we insure as equally important, we are not just focused on the high value thoroughbred. The vast majority of the horses we insure are not household names and are not highly valuable in a monetary sense. We provide policies for the thoroughbred and non thoroughbred alike, including Eventers, Hunters, Ponies, Hacks, etc.

We also provide policies designed to protect you, the owner. Our Sport Horse package not only protects against the financial loss of a horse or pony but can also protect you personally against liability arising from the horse or pony, personal accident to you the rider and the loss of saddlery & tack, life saving surgery etc.

We provide a personal, prompt and efficient service. We all have a personal interest in horses which enables us to give you a very personal service and the benefit of a comprehensive knowledge of the bloodstock industry.

We are in attendance at the majority of race meetings in Ireland and all major sales in Ireland and the UK and most worldwide.
