Patrick Cooper

About Patrick

Son of the founder, Tom Cooper, Patrick has been with BBA Ireland since 1991. A lifetime in the bloodstock business worldwide has given him a network of contacts second to none.

A lifetime in the bloodstock business worldwide has given him a network of contacts second to none. An apprenticeship that took in Claiborne Farm in Kentucky, USA, Haras D’Etreham in France, Colin Hayes in Australia and two years in South Africa has been followed by a gradual move to the purchasing and management for a number of long term clients. As he says “ It is our job not just to buy you the best bloodstock, but also to make your time in the sport as enjoyable as possible”.

Closely associated with major racing operations, Anamoine, Windflower, Mill House, Ronchalon Racing and Beaslay Thoroughbreds, he also buys for and manages smaller racing partnerships mainly connected to trainer Jessica Harrington with horses running in his wife Juliet’s all blue colours. He recently identified, acquired and campaigned Photo Call, a Grade 1 winner in the USA who was subsequently sold for $3,000,000 at the Keeneland November sales.
